Nyx S. Delamour is a Black transgender writer from Louisiana with a deep passion for the monstrous and the strange. Inspired by a love of horror, fantasy, and the paranormal, their stories seek to explore themes of identity and resistance. Nyx crafts narratives that center LGBTQ+ and Black characters in genres where they are all too often invisible. Through the use of speculative fiction they attempt to stretch the boundaries of Black and queer storytelling by blending the personal with the mythic. As a writer, Nyx challenges systems of power by reimagining what it means to be a monster. Their writing is grounded in a strong foundation of Gothic literature and folklore influences. Whether exploring occult conspiracies, otherworldly curses, or impossible moral choices, they strive to write stories that are both unsettling and deeply human. Nyx’s debut novel, The Eclipse Syndicate, is an adult urban fantasy that follows three cursed occultists navigating supernatural debt, found family, and an impending apocalypse. It is the first installment in the planned The Sunken Cost series.
